"Franchising in the Health Care Sector: The case of CFW in Kenya," a report by Dr. Rozenn Perrigot
In the context of the growth of franchising in the social sector, and more specifically in the healthcare sector in Africa, it is important to understand how franchising can contribute to the development of the sector, from the quality of treatment and services offered to the performance of the companies. This report includes the main findings of an exploratory research on CFW network. The main objective of this study was to understand and assess CFW activities and operations, the CFW franchise business model and CFW challenges and perspectives by adopting 1) a multi-level approach involving people from headquarters, franchisees, employees of clinics, customers and prescribers and 2) a qualitative approach based on in-depth interviews and analysis of secondary data.
This exploratory research is the first step of a broader research project on CFW network. Dr. Rozenn Perrigot, Associate Professor and Director of the Center in Franchising, Retail & Service Chains at the Graduate School of Management - University of Rennes 1, plans to continue this collaboration with us in order to optimize the development and management of our network in Africa. She is currently raising funds in the perspective of involving her students of the Master in Franchising, Retail & Service Chains coming from more than 12 countries in this project.”
